What We Do
A long term family business with an eye on the future!
Payne Sign Company has been growing since 1954 in Springfield MO. Having outgrown two previous facilities, our current location, 501 N. National Ave., includes a large metal fabrication area, two spray booths and a large graphics and design area.
Mr. Jim Payne started this company in 1954 after studying Neon arts with help from the GI Bill. He kept running as a small, but successful business. Jim’s interests grew into city politics and real estate. In 1970 Jim’s employee, installer Butch Barber purchased the business from him. Butch grew the business with strong relationships including the area cola and “spirits” distributors.
Ron Barber, Butch’s younger brother, accepted ownership and full operations of Payne Sign Company in 1990. Our company remains “in the family” still.
Ron continually grows with the business, city and community. He is very knowledgeable in all aspects of signage from permitting your new structure to servicing your existing signs.
We’ve added many experienced employees along the way, with countless years of acquired knowledge in the sign business.
Payne Sign Company designs, manufactures, transports, installs and warranties all of our own signs. We provide professional installation and permitting services for our local signs as well as for other sign companies nationwide.
We’re licensed, bonded, insured and a union contractor.
Our workforce includes a number of journeyman installers and service technicians.
Our design team is creative and works to find solutions for our customers.
We will gladly come to your location and survey your site in order to provide your business with signage options, as we have with local businesses for so many years.
